Polly noticed someone from the house opposite me watching through half-closed blinds. Curious eyes, probably a man, gobbled me hungrily. I tried to be inconspicuous and pretend I didn't know about the smirk's gaze, but the more I was bored in the apartment and the longer I couldn't get a job, the more humorous thoughts I had. Early in the morning, when the sun was just rising, I stood on the balcony again, feeling that sight was watching me. Somebody's a morning bird like me.
